Thousands of trees make up Whistler’s forests, which characterize our resort community and provide abundant environmental, recreational, aesthetic, economic and health benefits. The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) has policies and processes in place to protect trees from unnecessary harm or removal.

The short answer is YES YOU CAN in a lot of circumstances. For more information visit the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s information page at http://ow.ly/QkXk30e5tvY

I have also attached a copy of the permit application as at August 1st, 2017 if you would like to see the exact questions they will ask.

There is no doubt about it, Whistler has an incredible community. Donating to local charities is one of the ways that many join together to share commitments, support causes and think about others. This doesn’t have to mean contributing in a monetary sense, many community members volunteer or fundraise as a means of giving back. As a result of the involvement and support of so many, local businesses and non-profit groups thrive here in town and in turn, better Whistler as a whole. Here are a number of local charities that need our support!

Having a clear idea of your budget is one of the first steps you must take into account when scouting for your new home. This includes how much you are willing to spend on your new home and how much you will spend to customize your home once purchased. Be aware that spending too much money on modifications could affect your chances of selling further down the road. For example, if the asking price is $500,000, but to create…

If you’re wishing to construct a new building, demolish a structure or make repairs, alterations or relocations to any buildings or structures in Whistler, you will require a building permit. The type of building permit required depends on the structure; all applications require a processing fee and must be submitted to the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) for processing. Here are the general steps required to apply for a building permit in Whistler.

  1. Review the Scope of the Project

Do you require a building permit for a single-family home or duplex? Commercial property? Multi-family building? The type and scope of the project will determine which type of building permit should be applied for. Review the different categories of…

Despite being a world-class resort destination Whistler maintains a tight-knit community. The Community Enrichment Program (CEP) is one example of this, and this year the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) awarded 28 non-profits with $134,575 of grant funding through the program. This CEP, which financially supports local and non-profit organizations in Whistler that benefit the community and bring it closer to its Whistler 2020 vision, has been awarded over half a million dollars since 2014. To qualify for the grant applicants must operate a non-profit in one of the following categories: Environment, Social Service, Community Service, Recreation and Sport, or Arts and Culture.

To apply for the grant, applications are submitted and presentations…

Many of our clients experience a stress-free and enjoyable home selling process, and we know just what it takes for you to sell your home stress-free as well. If you’ve been thinking of putting your home on the market, but don’t want it to add any unnecessary stress in your life, follow these seven simple tips.

  1. Organize a home pre-inspection

The home inspection can be the most stressful part of the selling process. Unaware of any defects or problems, getting news of repairs is the last thing a seller wants to hear when a contract is on the table. By…
