Whistler Elementary School and High School Information  In Whistler, Myrtle Philip Community School opened in 1992 and is located on Lorimer Road in Whistler Cay. More than 450 students are enrolled in kindergarten through Grade 6. A second elementary community school, Spring Creek Elementary, opened in south Whistler 2004. Whistler Secondary opened in 1996 and has more than 390 students enrolled in grades 7-12. Both facilities offer community recreation programs and activities through the municipality. A report by Vancouver’s Fraser Institute titled Studies in Education Policy ranked Whistler Secondary School #33 out of 279 in the province of British Columbia for the 2001/02 school year. Over the past five years, the average ranking for Whistler Secondary was 66. The school also scored 7.7 out of 10 in 2001/02 and achieved an average score of seven over the past five years. Whistler has two representatives in School District #48, who are elected during municipal elections by the citizens.
